What Is A Granny Annexe?
A granny annexe is self-contained accommodation suitable for an elderly person or couple. They are built to fit in the garden of the family home. Garden annexes provide your elderly relative with a safe, secure place to call their home without taking away their independence. And it provides you with the peace of mind that you are nearby if they need you.
Garden annexes are an affordable alternative to sheltered housing or independent living. They feature everything one may need to live comfortably and are designed and built to the highest of standards.
Our garden annexe’s start at £55,250 and planning permission will need to be obtained – this usually takes up to 12 weeks and we can do this for you. The build itself usually takes no more than 8-10 weeks.
Garden annexes are cost-efficient to run and will add value to your property. Plus, it is highly unlikely that you will have to pay council tax on a garden annexe.
Garden Annexes You Can Live In
At Family Annexe, you can customise your annexe. Whichever style you opt for, you can choose from a range of cladding, roof tiles, windows and doors. Plus, each annexe comes with laminate flooring, digital electric radiators, joinery, lighting and doors.
The kitchen includes an oven (with extractor), LED downlights and sink, plus there is a choice of kitchen units, handles and worktops.
All shower rooms and bathrooms are tiled and finished with premium fixtures and fittings as standard. Alternatively, you can easily be upgraded to a wet-room if required.
One Bedroom Garden Annexes You Can Live In
Family Annexe offers three styles of one bedroom quality annexes you can live in.
The Bluebell Annexe is the smallest in our range and is best suited to gardens with smaller plots. Suitable for an individual living alone, the annexe features an open plan lounge and kitchen area, a single bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. It can be accessed via large front bifold doors or a side entrance. The Bluebell Annexes start at just £55,250.
The Foxglove Annexe is very similar to the Bluebell, only it is bigger. The double bedroom and additional space mean this annexe can be ideal for a couple. Natural light floods the front of the annexe via a large bedroom window, glazed front door and large bifold doors.
The Hawthorn Annexe is the largest one-bedroom annexe available and is suitable for a couple or someone who like plenty of space. It features a spacious open plan kitchen/living area, a large double bedroom with built-in wardrobe space and an ensuite bathroom. This is one of our more popular annexes – it can be designed and built in just seven weeks!
Two Bedroom Garden Annexes You Can Live In
Family Annexe also offers three styles of two bedroom quality annexes you can live in. Two bedroom annexes are popular for couples or those who have grandchildren or extended family that may visit. It is always handy having a second bedroom.
The Honeysuckle is the smallest two bedroom annexe in our range, but it is by no means cramped! It features a double bedroom, single bedroom, bathroom and open plan lounge and kitchen. Stylishly finished, this annexe offers plenty of space for just £82,950.
The Sycamore is a popular garden annexe. The layout is slightly different to offer both privacy and space. It features a spacious kitchen, lounge and dining area in the centre of the annexe with a double bedroom and en suite on one side of it and a single bedroom and main bathroom on the other.
The Willow is the largest annexe available at Family Annexe. It features a big double bedroom and single bedroom both with built-in wardrobe space as well as an ensuite off the main bedroom, a separate shower room and a utility/boot room at the front door. The open living, kitchen and dining area is accessed via bi-folding doors, which allow the natural light to flood through.
