Granny Annexe Spotlight: The Willow
Family Annexe’s six unique annexe models, including The Willow, offer a choice of one and two bedroom designs. That’s why we think our annexes make such a great alternative living space.
It doesn’t matter if it’s for your elderly relative, a relative struggling with a disability, or just extra space for you and your family. Each one of our annexe models can be adaptable to our clients’ needs.
In this blog, we’re going to tell you a little bit more about our annexes, focusing specifically on our Willow model.
At almost 85 square metres, the Willow is our largest garden annexe. Featuring an open plan living area and L-shaped kitchen, this annexe also has a shower room and two bedrooms. One of which is a large master bedroom with an ensuite. This annexe is also the highest in price out of our range – it’s available from £106,950.
Because of the large bifold doors, natural light will flood into the living and kitchen area which even creates an additional sense of space. The Willow can be accessed via a front door that leads into a standalone utility room. This provides a practical space that has plenty of storage for your items.
All our annexes come with flat EPDM roofs as standard but you can get a pitched roof design if you want.
Features & Finishes
Here at Family Annexe, we know exactly what it takes to create the perfect garden retreat. Every annexe is finished to an incredibly high standard and there’s a host of internal and external options to choose from.
Exteriorly, we have a range of cladding, roof tiles, windows, and doors. And interiorly, the finished design include laminate flooring, joinery, doors, lighting, and digital electric radiators which heat your space very efficiently.
Not only that but we can further enhance the practicality (and design) of your annexe with a choice of decking and balustrade.
In every annexe we build, the kitchen comes fully-fitted. We want you to be comfortable and happy in your new annexe. That’s why we even have a range of kitchen worktops, handles, and units to choose from! Plus they’re available in various styles, colours, and finishes.
Ceramic hobs and electric ovens, with extractors, are included as well as a stainless steel sink and LED downlights. We also include plumbing and electrics for a fridge and washing machine.
Shower rooms are finished fully tiled and fitted with premium fixtures as standard. And if you’re in need of something with a little bit more space and support, we can upgrade to a wet-room to increase its practicality. For example, shower trays will be substituted for non-slip flooring and add in grab rails and shower seats.
Certificates & Warranty
Before we get to work on your annexe, we have to obtain permission from your Local Planning Authority (LPA) to actually start the build. We achieve planning with a Householder Application and the ‘Caravan Act’. Whether we receive either full planning permission or obtain planning permission through the Caravan Act, you will receive full Part B and Building Control approval.
Our roots are founded in custom design and build so we’ll happily explore the benefits (and the cost) of building something tailored to you. Plus, our team has experience building over 100 annexes – we may be a relatively new business but by no means does that make us beginners.
Being in the industry for a while means that we’ve seen the best annexes and the not so good ones. So we know exactly which areas to focus on saving money whilst still providing top quality homes. After all, quality is our top priority.
That’s why we provide a ten-year structural warranty on every single one of our annexe projects – that includes yours.
